Vintage 40s, Girl Scouts of America uniform dress with original patches.
This dress is stunning, very well constructed with a heavier weight, soft cotton fabric.
Features a V-neckline with a button down notched collar, slim fit sleeves with a button cuff, gathered shoulder yoke at front with pleated at back, fitted bodice with a seam at natural waist, patch pocket at chest and front hips, A-line, knee length skirt, buttons down front with logo embossed plastic buttons (a few have been replaced).
Original patches tell a story of a Girl Scout who lived in the Portland, OR area, who completed 3 years in troop number 35. The wing patch tells us she completed her years as a Brownie scout.
FUN FACT • In 1944, Girl Scouts sold calendars instead of cookies due to ingredient rations during World War II.
